State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Goran Aleksic, in the capacity of a special envoy by the President of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Aleksandar Vucic, has attended the solemn ceremony of the inauguration of the President of the Republic of Paraguay, Mr. Santiago Peña Palacios, on August 15 2023 in Asuncion.

Congratulating the new Paraguayan President Mr. Santiago Peña and the new Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Rubén Dario Ramírez Lezcano the assumption of their duties, Mr. Aleksic wished for the progress and well-being of Paraguay, expressing the interest of Serbia to further develop bilateral relations and the cooperation between the two friendly countries.

On the sidelines of the ceremony Mr. Aleksic met with the ministers of foreign affairs of Perú Ms. Ana Cecilia Gervasi Diaz, Uruguay Mr. Francisco Bustillo and Guatemala Mr. Mario Búcaro Flores, with whom he discussed the current issues of bilateral cooperation.
